THE WORLD IN UNION

Wednesday 21st October found the choir providing a pre-dinner concert in the vastness of the ICC (Newport). The occasion, the 2026 CONGRESS of the INTERNATIONAL NUCLEAR LAW ASSOCIATION. A prestigious event indeed.

Our pre-conference dinner programme was very warmly received by an attentive audience of some 300 delegates from over 40 countries. Of particular note was the reception for our Welsh items but also for, perhaps unsurprisingly, ‘The World in Union’.

The moving climax to the occasion came when compere Phil Howells dedicated the final number, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, to the victims of the Aberfan Disaster resulting in the assembled delegates rising to their feet as one during our singing of this.

We were led by the usual peerless guidance of D. Huw Rees and supported by our superb accompanist, Sian Davies.
