CONTRASTS

Friday 7th July saw an evening of contrasts in the performances of SERENDIPITY LADIES CHOIR directed by Juliet Rossiter with Heather Williams at the piano, and CMDC directed by Rhiannon Williams and accompanied by Sian Davies.

SERENDIPITY produced a programme of largely contemporary music delivered in a sensitive and mellifluous style in sharp contrast to the power and passion which have become the trademarks of CMDC, whose programme included their first performance of ‘WE RISE AGAIN’ (Leon Dubinsky arr. Stephen Smith). A symbol perhaps that both choirs survived the restrictions imposed by covid and are rebuilding themselves.

This splendid concert took place in the beautiful setting of St Mary’s Church, Tenby (reputedly the largest parish church in Wales) before a large appreciative audience which included visitors from America, Canada and New Zealand.

Huw Meredydd George, compere for the evening, providing a knowledgeable, erudite and witty guide to the event which was held in aid of WALES AIR AMBULANCE.
