A SILENT TRIBUTE TO GRON
Our Rehearsal on Sunday 4th June began with a minute’s silence for our departed friend and colleague Goronwy Morgan. Little enough time to remember a life which began in Seven Sisters in 1931 and which saw him pursue a distinguished career in teaching, culminating in him becoming Head of Sport at Llandovery College. A talented rugby player who played scrum half for Wales under 18s and also for the Swansea team which held the mighty All Blacks to a draw.
As a gifted baritone Gron sang with Llandovery MVC and was also a founder member of the Ffairfach group of CMDC. He will be fondly remembered by us all as a true gentleman and friend of keen mind and quick wit.
Our thoughts are with his family and all those who loved and respected him as did we.
