PRIDE RESTORED

Saturday 14th October, a day of highs and lows for the choir who gathered together to watch and be disappointed by the result of the match versus Argentina. Having dusted themselves off they proceeded to deliver a superb sold-out concert in The Market Hall, Llanboidy, in support of the Chris John Family Fund.

A highlight of The Choir’s performance was a sensitive and emotional performance of ‘Tell My Father’, dedicated to and in the presence of the parents of Chris John.

The restoration of pride in Wales was hugely assisted by two of the finest young singers in Wales in the shape of Jessica Robinson (Soprano), finalist in 2023 Cardiff Singer of the World, and Trystan Llyr Griffiths (Tenor). Their contributions as soloists, as a duet and with The Choir, were thrilling and worthy of gracing any stage.

The whole programme was enhanced by the consummate musicianship of Sian Davies (Piano), and the guiding hands of Rhiannon Willliams (Musical Director).

The presenter for the evening was the ever witty and erudite Huw George who extended thanks to all, but in particular to Gwynlais and Mary Phillips (and family) for the gargantuan efforts they made in ensuring the success of this first class event.
