FROM ‘ABBA’ TO ‘THE WORLD IN UNION’

Friday May 19th and another successful concert for CMDC in the imposing surroundings of St David’s Church, Neath, and in the joyful company of DWR Y FELIN SCHOOL CHOIR directed by Olivia Martin.
 
CMDC’s programme was, as usual, varied and included a magical rendering of ‘Speed your Journey’ (Verdi) and a first performance of ‘The World in Union’ (Holst/Skarbek). The school choir produced refreshing and lively versions of items including pieces from ‘Wicked’ and ‘Matilda’ and most notably a nostalgia filled medley of ‘ABBA’ hits.
 
The very appreciative audience also enjoyed piano duets performed by our superb accompanist Sian Davies and, stepping in at the eleventh hour, our hugely accomplished MD Rhiannon Williams. Phil Howells (compere) drew the audience’s attention to the relaunch of The Friends of CMDC and invited them to join.
