O ZERO I ARWR
An apt description of many of the brave men who, in spite of having little or no experience of singing, came together and formed ‘MEN UNITED IN SONG’, in order to support the work of Prostate Cymru. The aim to learn enough to put on a concert in 9 weeks from signing up to the project. This tall order was to learn six songs in time to perform a prestigious concert in the hugely impressive Dora Stoutzger Hall, Caerdydd, on October 31st – a task which came to fruition splendidly on the night.
The event was shared with COR MEIBION DE CYMRU delivering a set of performances of significant power and passion. The climax came when the choirs combined under the inspiring leadership of D.Huw Rees and accompanied by the faultless playing of Sian Gwawr Davies in an emotional rendering of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, which was met with a standing ovation from the large, enthusiastic audience.
Further delights were provided by exemplary performances from Ceri Heddwyn Davies (Tenor)
a Sêr yn Codi Cymeradwyaeth Uchel, Lauren Elizabeth Williams a Connor Horton.
Yn ein harwain ni drwy'r amser roedd Garry Owens hyddysg.
Cynlluniwyd ac ysgogwyd y prosiect uchelgeisiol hwn gan Guy Edwards o C.M.D.C. cefnogi gan aelodau'r côr mewn amrywiaeth o rolau. Y gobaith chwyrn yw y bydd y dynion a gymerodd ran yn yr antur heriol hon yn cael eu hysbrydoli i barhau i geisio pleser yn y dyfodol yn llawenydd y canu.. Efallai hyd yn oed gyda C.M.D.C.
