Friday October 11th saw the choir performing in the intimate setting of EBENEZER BAPTIST CHURCH, MELIN, NEATH. The previous concert in the splendour of ST. DAVID’S CATHEDRAL offering a totally different experience to choir and audiences alike. In Neath the close proximity to the public created a rapport and an awareness of the emotional impact of the music on them, which is impossible to replicate in large venues.
The concert, hosted by Pastor Lynn Maddocks, proved a great success with items ranging from Alexander’s Ragtime Band to Hallelujah Chorus, all items being greeted with loud applause and a spontaneous standing ovation at the conclusion of the final item.
The music team of M.D. Elaine Robins and Accompanist Sian Davies were at their sparkling best as always. We were honoured to share the evening with the superb international soprano Gail Pearson and the delightful Melin Primary School Choir.
The performers were treated to a very welcome and superb buffet by the ladies of the Church.
All proceeds from the concert were in aid of Melin Primary School and the Ebenezer Homeless Fund.
