Alun John honoured at annual concert in St Davids Cathedral

Musical Director Elaine Robins presents Founder Conductor and Vice President Alun John OBE with a Commemorative framed and inscribed photograph of Côr Meibion De Cymru. Taken 31 years ago on the occasion of the first ‘Summer Concert’ at the Cathedral, sponsored by Barclays Bank, the picture contained 202 choristers. Stage/Choir Marshalls Phil Howells and Ian Powell (then and now) are also pictured.
Five of the choristers pictured behind also staged all those years ago. Namely 2nd Tenor Don Surridge (Barry), 1st Basses Edryd Evans and Section Marshall Huw Jones (Resolven), Doug Guy (Llandaff North, Cardiff) and 2nd Bass Eric Williams (Cwmann, Lampeter). Also present, but in the audience, were 2nd Tenor (retired!) Jim Willis (Hereford) and 2nd Bass Section Marshall Alun Davies (Blaenrhondda).
